Queens

Are the services really 100% free?

Yes! There is no hidden catch. All of our services are absolutely free for Queens.

How old do I have to be for the Queens program?

We accept Queens of all ages.

What happens if I am only interested in a couple of services, not all?

That is absolutely fine! Being a Queen opens up a variety of opportunities and you can pick and choose the ones that are right for you.

I have children, can I bring them along with me?

Of course! We offer free child-minding services during your visit. We just ask that you inform us ahead of time about the number of children you will be bringing.

How do you ensure that your environment is female-friendly?

By maintaining a sisterhood environment. Everyone present during Queen sessions will be a female.

Why are your services for women only?

We believe self-care is monumental in the fight for solutions in women's issues and if women are cared for, it can lead to social, political, and economical improvements that will benefit everyone.

Shields

Is there an age requirement to become a Shield?

Since we have created an environment that is safe for everyone, we welcome women of all ages. However, minors must be accompanied by their parents.

Why is the Shield program for women only?

To sustain our goal to provide a female-friendly environment and develop our goal of ending women's issues.

Volunteers

How old do I need to be to volunteer?

We welcome volunteers of all ages during our fundraisers and events; however, to work directly with the Queens, you need to be 15 or older.

How many hours do I need to dedicate each week?

There are no set hours that you need to volunteer. We employ a different approach in which volunteers are asked to complete weekly tasks (dependant on the team they belong to). Normally, an online task can be completed in under an hour, whereas in-person activities take 2-3 hours.

What kinds of volunteering opportunities do you have available?

We have both online and in-person volunteering opportunities.

I live too far from your location, can I still volunteer?

Yes! For our long-distance supporters, there are plenty of online opportunities available. Please contact [email protected] to discover a role that suits your needs.

I have a disability, will it prevent me from volunteering?

No! We are very good at accommodating volunteers with all sorts of abilities.

What is the volunteering application process?

Our application process is broken into three simple steps: (1) Resume & Team Application, (2) Phone Interview, (3) Decision.

Do I need to be a female to volunteer?

No, unless you are applying to work directly with Queens.

Is Sheen for She a government Foundation?

The Sheen for She Foundation is not a government organization or affiliated with any government institution.

Are you currently receiving any funds from the government?

We are not receiving any financially support from the government.

How is the organization funded?

We are funded by generous donors and sponsors who believe in our cause.

Are you a registered non-profit organization?

Yes, the Sheen for She Foundation is a federally incorporated non-profit organization. Our Canadian non-profit corporation number is: 1076618-6.

Is this Foundation religious or faith-based?

No, we do not have any religious or faith-based affiliations.

What does long-term support mean?

Long-term support can take on several forms. For instance, regular donations of products and services.

What does short-term support mean?

Short-term sponsors contribute to our silent-auctions at events by providing gift-baskets, gift cards, or services.

Speakers

Do I have to be a female to speak?

No, everyone is welcome.

Is there any honorarium offered to guest speakers?

No, all of our speakers whole-heartedly volunteer their time for women.

What topic can I speak about?

Your story and anything regarding women's issues (gender equality, violence against women, poverty, homelessness, etc.,).

When are your events held?

We host two conferences each year as a part of our Soaring Auras Movement. Other events featuring speaking opportunities are held on a smaller scale each month.

Will my talk be recorded?

Yes, all talks will be filmed, edited, and posted on all of our social platforms.
